Customs Automation 4 weclapp

Customs invoice automatically from weclapp

Your weclapp invoice is the commercial invoice, and the customs values come straight from it

For every shipment to a third country, customs needs a commercial invoice with goods value, quantity and description per line. In weclapp, you already have this invoice. Fulfillment 4 weclapp uses it as the source for the customs data, adds the shipping costs as a separate line and prints the invoice together with the label. Honestly described, including the limits: the app works with the document that weclapp created and doesn't invent a second invoice alongside it; this way accounting and customs always match.

Values from the invoice, freight as a line item

Invoice before sales order

The customs value per line is the unit price from the invoice for the shipment. If there is no invoice yet, the app uses the sales order. This way the declared value matches the document customs sees.

Shipping costs reported too

The shipping cost line from the invoice or sales order is passed into the customs data as freight costs, for DHL Paket, DHL Express, FedEx, UPS, DPD and GLS. Austrian Post has no field for this in its interface.

Bills of materials

If the bundle price is maintained on the parent item, the app declares the parent item; otherwise it declares the components with their own values.

Several invoices for one shipment

The app selects the invoice via the delivery reference, prefers final invoices over standard and down payment invoices, and stops if it remains ambiguous. No label with a wrong value.

The invoice prints along, the carrier gets it electronically

Printed with the label

If you turn on “Print invoice”, the weclapp invoice comes out of the document printer with every customs shipment. More on the print set: Printing customs documents

FedEx paperless

FedEx creates the commercial invoice from the transmitted data and accepts it via Electronic Trade Documents. For dangerous goods shipments, the app also prints the papers.

Kühne+Nagel

For road bookings via Kühne+Nagel, the weclapp invoice is attached to the booking as the commercial invoice.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a pro forma invoice?

Only if you ship goods without a sale, such as samples or warranty replacements. The app doesn't create a pro forma invoice. Create an invoice with the customs value in weclapp, and shipping then runs like for any sale.

Why does the customs value match my invoice?

Because the app reads the value from exactly this invoice and not from the item price. Discounts and special prices from the sales order are thus taken into account automatically.

What if no invoice exists for the shipment yet?

Then the app reads the values from the sales order and reports them to the carrier. You can submit the invoice later; the carrier's customs document applies for the declaration.
